Active in its mission to serve its Members and other Veterans and their families in the greater North Augusta area. Here's a little bit of what we've been up to.

Members of American Legion Post 71 in North Augusta held a tree dedication ceremony on Dec. 30. A dogwood tree was planted in memory of Past Commander Jerome “Jerry” Morin. Aiken Standard

The Blue Star Veteran Memorial Marker at the SC I-20 Welcome Center that was jointly erected by Hammond Hills Garden Club of North Augusta and the SC Highway Department in January 1975. In December of this year, Palmetto Garden Club refurbished the marker and placed a Christmas wreath at its base. Ralph Wainwright, Commander of Post 71, provided the memorial from the Wreaths Across America program.




On June 19, 2015 Fort Gordon honored our Vietnam Veterans with a Welcome Home Celebration. Post 71 was proud to be a part of that long over due Welcome Home.
