Jesse C. Lynch Memorial American Legion Post 71
Jesse C. Lynch Memorial American Legion Post 71 is recognized by both the United States and the state of South Carolina governmentsmas a 501-c-19, a non profit charitable organization. This designation unlike 501-c3, allows us the American Legion to lobby lawmakers on behalf of veteran causes.
Post 71 is is proud of the many things we do on both sides of the river.
-Ceremonial Honor Guard provides military honors for
for veterans throughout the CSRA, and South Carolina.
-Boys State and Girls State, which is an educational program teaching young men and women the civics of local and national governments.
-Nathan Wolfe Law Cadet Academy which is held at the South Carolina Criminal Justice Academy. Which allows high school students to get a glimpse of various careers in law enforcement.
-Local Memorial and Veterans Day Ceremonies.
-Support for the Wade Hampton Veterans Park.
-Wreaths Across America.
-Sea Scout Ship 71.
Post 71 focuses on the Four Pillars of the American Legion.

4. Children and Youth.
